Hey Carpool Crew! Today we’re talking about one of the smartest answers Jesus ever gave. Some religious leaders tried to trap Him with a tricky question about taxes, government, and Caesar… but Jesus stayed calm, thought clearly, and pointed everyone back to what matters most: honoring God above all.
In this episode, kids will learn that following Jesus sometimes means making hard choices, standing up for what’s right, and staying faithful even when there’s pressure from friends or people around us.
Today’s Big Idea:Do what’s right and honor God above all.
Bible Verse:Matthew 22:17 (CSB)“Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
In This Episode, Kids Will Learn:
Why the religious leaders tried to trap Jesus
What Jesus meant by “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s”
How Jesus stayed calm under pressure
Why our hearts belong to God first
How to handle tricky situations with friends and peer pressure
Why doing the right thing is always worth it
Family Discussion Question:When is it hardest for you to do the right thing, and what can you do in that moment?
Parents:If this podcast is helping your kids grow in their faith, consider subscribing this weekend! You’ll unlock Goodnight Psalms, Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible, bonus episodes, and more encouraging content to keep faith conversations going beyond the car ride.

Hey Carpool Crew! Today we’re talking about one of the most intense moments in Jesus’ ministry when He walked into the temple and flipped over tables! Why would Jesus do something like that? And what does it teach us about trusting Him?
In this episode, Pastor Justin walks through John 2:18 and explains why Jesus cared so deeply about worship, people, and what was right. The religious leaders demanded proof that Jesus had authority, but Jesus pointed to the greatest proof of all: His death and resurrection.
Kids will learn that we can trust Jesus not just because of what He said, but because of what He actually did for us.
Today’s Big Idea:We can trust Jesus because of what He’s done for us.
Bible Verse:John 2:18 (CSB)“What sign can you show us to prove your authority?”
In This Episode, Kids Will Learn:
Why Jesus cleared the temple
What made Jesus angry in the temple courts
Why the religious leaders questioned Jesus
What Jesus meant when He said He would raise the temple in three days
How Jesus proved who He is through His resurrection
Why we can trust Jesus even when we have doubts
Family Discussion Question:When you have doubts, what can you remember about what Jesus has already done?
Parents:If your child enjoyed this episode, send Pastor Justin a message on Instagram @carpoolingwithjesus and share what stood out to your family. One listener will even get some special Carpooling with Jesus goodies!

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Pastor Justin here, and today we’re tackling a big question: Is Jesus just a really good teacher… or is He actually God?
Today’s Big Truth: Jesus isn’t just a good teacher. He is God.
In John 8:58, Jesus says something that caught everyone’s attention: “Before Abraham was, I am.”
That might sound simple at first, but it was a huge statement. “I am” was the name God used for Himself in the Old Testament. So when Jesus said that, He wasn’t just saying He existed before Abraham. He was saying He is God.
We break that down in a way kids can understand, including a simple school example that makes it click.
Here’s why this matters for you today:
Jesus knows everything about you
Jesus has power over everything
Jesus’ love for you is real and personal
This isn’t just about knowing facts. It changes how you pray, how you trust Him, and how you live every day.
When you talk to Jesus, you’re talking to God. When you feel scared, God is with you. When you follow Jesus, you’re following the One who made everything.
Parent Action Step: Follow us on Instagram @carpoolingwithjesus for short clips, encouragement, and easy conversation starters you can use with your kids all week long.
Family Discussion Question: Why do you think it matters that Jesus isn’t just a teacher, but actually God?

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗Pastor Justin here, and today we’re talking about something that might sound a little confusing at first… what does it actually mean to be “born again”?
In John 3:3, Jesus says something that surprised a lot of people: you have to be born again to see the kingdom of God. But He wasn’t talking about starting life over as a baby. He was talking about something way deeper.
Today’s Big Truth:Jesus gives you a brand new life on the inside.
We walk through the story of Nicodemus and break down what Jesus really meant. It’s not about changing how you look on the outside. It’s about God changing your heart, your thoughts, and the way you treat people.
We also share a real-life story about a kid named Tyler who messed up, felt it in his heart, and chose to talk to Jesus about it. What happened next? That’s exactly what “being made new” looks like.
Here’s what you can do today:
Be honest when you mess up
Talk to Jesus about what’s going on inside
Trust Him to change your heart over time
You don’t just need better behavior. You need a new heart. And that’s exactly what Jesus gives.
Parent Action Step:If this episode helped your family, share it with another parent today. A quick text or post can help another kid hear truth on their way to school.
Family Discussion Question:What do you think it means to have a new heart on the inside?

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗Happy May the Fourth! And today’s big truth fits perfectly:Use what God gave you to help others.
In Luke 12:48, Jesus says, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required.” That means if you’ve been given gifts, talents, or strengths, they’re not just for you.
Here’s the truth:You have influence. You have ability. You have something that matters. The question is, how are you using it?
Just like in Star Wars, power can be used for good or for bad. Same power, different outcomes.
Some of you are funny. Some are leaders. Some are kind. Some are great at sports or school. That’s your “power.”
What this looks like today:
Know your strengths
Use them to help, not hurt
Pay attention to your impact on others
The goal isn’t just being gifted. It’s using your gifts in a way that makes people better.
Family Discussion Question:What is something you are good at, and how can you use it to help someone today?

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗We’re so glad you’re here today. Whether you’re heading to school, finishing breakfast, or starting homeschool, this episode is all about one big question: What matters most in your life?
Pastor Justin gives a special shoutout to Emma, Scott, Amelia, and Adeline in Midland, Texas, and then dives into a powerful moment from Mark 10:17. A man runs up to Jesus and asks the question we’ve all wondered at some point: What do I need to do to have eternal life?
That question leads us to today’s big truth:
👉 Following Jesus matters more than anything else.
The man in the story looked like he had everything together. He made good choices and followed the rules. But Jesus saw something deeper. Something else had first place in his heart.
So what about us?
Kids today have a lot of good things in their lives. Friends, sports, games, family. None of those are bad. But this episode challenges listeners to ask:👉 Do any of those things matter more to me than following Jesus?
Through a relatable story about a boy named Tyler and his video games, kids will learn how everyday choices reveal what truly comes first in their hearts.
Here’s what you can do today:
Put Jesus first before distractions
Pay attention to your choices because they show what matters most
Be willing to let go of anything that gets in the way
Parent Action Step:If this episode encouraged your family, share it with another parent today or post it in a group you're part of. It’s a simple way to help more families have meaningful faith conversations.
Family Discussion Question:What is something in your life that sometimes feels more important than following Jesus? And how can you change that?

Hey Carpool Crew!Welcome back to Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible! In today’s episode, we continue the story of Samuel and explore a turning point that changed Israel forever.
As Samuel grows older, the people of Israel make a big request—they want a king. But this wasn’t just about leadership… it revealed something deeper going on in their hearts.
In this episode, kids will learn:
How Samuel became a trusted prophet across Israel
What life was like before Israel had kings
What judges were and how they led the nation
Why Samuel’s sons created a problem for the people
What it really meant when Israel asked for a king
Why wanting to be “like everyone else” can lead us in the wrong direction
Even after God warned them, the people still chose their own way—and that decision would shape the future of Israel.
📖 Scripture Focus: 1 Samuel 8 (CSB)
Sometimes what we want isn’t what’s best.God knows what we truly need—even when we don’t.
🚗💨 Thanks for riding along on Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible.Next episode, we’ll meet Saul—the man who looked exactly like the king people wanted… but whose story teaches us that appearances can be deceiving.
And remember: God isn’t trying to hold you back—He’s trying to lead you well.
