Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin — and today we’re talking about something really special: being thankful for our church family. Whether your church meets in a big building, a small school, or even your living room, God designed the church to be more than a place — it’s a family. A place where you belong, where people love you, pray for you, and help you grow closer to Jesus.
In Hebrews 10:24–25, it says, “Let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together…but encouraging each other.” The early church faced hard times, but they still gathered together because they knew being together made them stronger. That’s still true today — we need each other!
In this episode, we’ll talk about how every part of the church matters — from the greeter in the parking lot to the worship leader, the teacher who helps you find your seat, and even the volunteer who makes sure there are donuts (hopefully!). Jesus calls the church His body — which means every person has a purpose, and every person belongs.
Before you go, talk about this together: Who’s one person at church you’re thankful for, and how could you show them that you appreciate them this week?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin — and today we’re talking about one of the best gifts God gives us: our friends! Friends make life brighter, funnier, and a whole lot more meaningful. They help us when we’re sad, forgive us when we mess up, and remind us of what God’s love really looks like in action.
In Proverbs 17:17, it says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time.” True friendship isn’t just about fun or convenience — it’s about being there when life gets tough. In Bible times, friends were like family — people you could count on no matter what. That’s still what good friends are today.
In this episode, we’ll talk about why Jesus values friendship so much, how He called His disciples His friends, and how you can be the kind of friend who loves others the way Jesus loves you. You’ll also hear how a simple “thank you” or kind gesture can make a big difference in someone’s day.
Before you go, talk about this together: Who’s a friend you’re really thankful for, and how can you show them this week that you care about them?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin — and today we’re talking about something that isn’t always easy: being thankful even when life feels hard. It’s simple to thank God when everything’s going great, but what about the days when things fall apart, people are unkind, or plans don’t go the way you hoped?
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, the Bible says, “Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” That doesn’t mean we have to be thankful for bad things — it means we can be thankful in them. Because even in hard moments, God is still good, still present, and still working for our good.
In this episode, we’ll look at how the Apostle Paul chose gratitude while sitting in prison — even singing songs with Silas after being arrested. Their thankfulness led to an incredible miracle! You’ll learn how to practice that same kind of faith when life doesn’t go your way, and how small prayers of gratitude can change your heart, even on tough days.
Before you go, talk about this together: What’s one thing you can thank God for today, even if things aren’t going the way you hoped?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin — and today’s a big one. It’s October 31st, and depending on your family, today might look totally different. Maybe you’re dressing up and going trick-or-treating, maybe you’re at a church festival, or maybe your family skips Halloween altogether — and that’s completely okay! But here’s the question we’re asking today: What does God say about Halloween, and should we be afraid of it?
In Ephesians 5:8, the Bible says, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Long ago, Halloween started as a festival where people tried to scare away spirits. Later, it became connected to All Saints Day — a time for remembering faithful believers. Over the years, it turned into the candy-and-costumes holiday we see today.
So what does Jesus want us to remember on a day like this? He’d say, “Don’t be afraid of today — you were made to shine.” Whether you’re dressed up or staying home, you can walk in the light. Be kind, smile big, say thank you, and bring joy wherever you go. It’s not about costumes or candy — it’s about being a light in a dark world and showing God’s love in real ways.
Before you go, talk about this together: What’s one way you can walk in the light today, no matter what your family chooses to do on Halloween?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about something that makes a lot of kids — and even adults — nervous: What if I’m scared to pray out loud? Maybe you freeze when someone asks, “Who wants to pray?” Or you worry you’ll say the wrong thing, forget your words, or sound weird. Praying silently feels easier — but praying out loud? That can feel scary.
In Romans 8:26, the Bible says, “The Spirit Himself intercedes for us even when we don’t know what to pray for.” That means even when you don’t know what to say, God still hears your heart. He understands your feelings, your pauses, even your nervous “ums.” Prayer isn’t about performance — it’s about presence. It’s not about getting the words right; it’s about talking honestly with God.
In this episode, we’ll talk about what Jesus might say if you were sitting there, staring at your shoes, scared to pray out loud. He’d probably whisper, “You don’t need perfect words — I’m listening to your heart.” You’ll hear Amari’s story — one of our listeners who got brave, prayed out loud, and learned that even short, simple prayers matter.
Before you go, talk about this together: What’s one short sentence you could say if someone asked you to pray out loud today?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew!
In tonight’s Goodnight Psalms, we rest in the promise from Psalm 16:8 — “I always let the Lord guide me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
No matter what kind of day you had, God is right beside you — steady, strong, and unshakable. You don’t have to be afraid of what’s ahead or worry about what’s behind. The same God who guided you today will hold you through the night.
Take a deep breath, let your heart slow down, and rest knowing that you are safe in His hands.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about something that hits deep — What if I’m scared of losing people’s trust? Maybe you told a lie, forgot something important, or made a mistake that hurt someone you care about. Now you’re worried your parents, teachers, or friends won’t see you the same way. That fear can feel heavy, but here’s the good news: trust can be rebuilt — and Jesus walks with you as you do it.
In Luke 16:10, Jesus says, “Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much.” That means the small, everyday moments where you choose honesty and follow through really matter. When you say you’ll do something and keep your word — even something small — you’re building trust brick by brick.
In this episode, we’ll talk about how losing trust doesn’t define you, but how what you do next does. Jesus never calls you your mistakes. He reminds you that your character grows when your words and actions match. If you’ve lost someone’s trust, you can own the truth, apologize, and start showing faithfulness again — one small step at a time.
Before you go, talk about this together: What’s one small way you can show someone today that you’re trustworthy?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about a fear that can get really loud inside our hearts — What if God doesn’t hear me? Maybe you’ve prayed for something really big or really personal, but nothing seemed to happen. You start to wonder, “Did I say it wrong? Is God too busy for me? Does He even hear me?”
If you’ve ever felt that way, you’re not alone. But in Jeremiah 29:12, God makes us a promise: “You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Even when His people messed up and felt far away, God didn’t stop listening. He said, “If you call to Me, I’ll hear you.” And that promise is still true for you today.
In this episode, we’ll talk about what Jesus might say if you whispered a quiet prayer and wondered, “Did that even work?” He’d say, “I heard that. I always hear you.” You don’t need fancy words, perfect timing, or a certain place. You can pray anywhere — in your head, out loud, in your car, at school, or while you’re brushing your teeth. God listens every time because you are His child and He loves you.
Before you go, talk about this together: What’s something you’ve prayed for — and how did it feel waiting to hear from God?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about a fear that hits a lot of kids — What if I get in trouble? Maybe you know that sinking feeling in your stomach when a teacher calls your name, or when your parents give you that look. You just want to do everything right. You want people to be proud of you. But here’s the truth — even good kids mess up sometimes, and that’s okay.
In 1 John 1:9, the Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” That means when we make mistakes, God doesn’t want us to hide or pretend to be perfect. He just wants us to be honest — because forgiveness is real.
In this episode, we talk about what Jesus might say when you’re scared of getting in trouble or when you’ve already messed up. He wouldn’t scold you or make you feel small. He’d say, “Come to Me. Be honest. I’ll forgive you. I’ll help you grow.”
You’ll learn how to let go of fear, be honest when you’ve made a mistake, and trust that Jesus sees your heart — not just your behavior. So the next time you feel that “uh-oh” moment coming, remember: you’re not a bad kid. You’re a loved kid, growing and learning under God’s grace.
Before you go, talk about this together: Have you ever gotten in trouble for something that felt unfair or something you didn’t mean to do? How did it make you feel?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.

Hey Carpool Crew, I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about something a lot of kids (and adults!) feel when they walk into someplace new—school, camp, church, or even a new neighborhood. That question pops up: What if people don’t like me?
It’s a real fear, but here’s something even more real—Jesus loves the real you, and the right people will too.
In this episode, we dive into Psalm 139:14, which says, “I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wondrously made.” You were created by God on purpose, with your personality, voice, smile, and laugh—all designed by Him. When we try to change ourselves just to fit in, we’re hiding the person God made on purpose.
You’ll also hear the story of Ava from Wisconsin, who went to a new camp and tried to act like someone else just to fit in. But when she finally opened up and was honest, she found a real friend—and discovered that being herself was enough all along.
If you’ve ever been afraid that people won’t like you, remember this: Jesus already loves you completely. The right people will like the real you too. You don’t have to perform or pretend—you just have to be who God made you to be.
Before you go, talk about this together: Have you ever felt pressure to act different just to fit in—and how did that feel for you?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.
