🚗 Father’s Day Special — Carpooling with Jesus
Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you're in the car, eating cereal at the kitchen table, or riding your scooter down the sidewalk—this Father’s Day episode is just for you.
🦸 It’s time to play: REAL DAD or SUPERHERO?Spoiler alert: While dads don’t wear capes or shoot webs, they love, protect, and lead in powerful ways that reflect the heart of God.
Today, we’re looking at Jesus’ earthly dad, Joseph, and what made him the kind of father God chose for His Son. Joseph didn’t have fame or superpowers—but he had courage, obedience, and grit. Through him, and through His Heavenly Father, Jesus learned what it means to love with strength and serve with heart.
📖 Key Verses:
Matthew 1:20–24 — Joseph listens to God’s voice
Matthew 2:13–15 — Joseph protects his family
John 5:19 — Jesus follows the Father’s example
Psalm 68:5 — God is a Father to the fatherless
💡 Big Lesson: Great dads show us a glimpse of what God is like—loving, present, and kind. And even if your dad isn’t around or doesn't get it right, your Heavenly Father always does.
👟 Action Steps for Kids:
Say thank you to your dad or a dad-like person
Pray for them to have strength and wisdom
Forgive when they mess up
Spend time with them—it’s the best gift
🎙️ Story Moment:Imagine Jesus as a kid, hammer in hand, missing the nail—and Joseph saying, “Good job, son. Keep trying. I’m proud of you.” That’s the kind of love every kid needs. And that’s how God sees you.
💬 Discussion Question:What’s something your dad—or a dad-like person—has done that made you feel really loved or special?

Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re busting a myth you’ve probably heard before — that Friday the 13th is unlucky. From black cats to ladder superstitions, people have all kinds of weird fears… but guess what? That’s not how God works.
📖 Key Verse: “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
🛑 Big Idea:God doesn’t deal in luck. He deals in truth, love, and power. So whether it’s Friday the 13th or any other day, we don’t have to be afraid.
🧭 In this episode:
The strange history of why people fear Friday the 13th
Why the Bible says fear doesn’t come from God
3 ways to live boldly and peacefully today — even when the world says “be afraid”
🧠 Practical Takeaways for Kids:
Replace fear with prayer
Encourage a friend who’s nervous
Celebrate the day God made (Psalm 118:24)

Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re talking about a true story from the Bible that’s both surprising and unforgettable — a boy named Eutychus literally fell asleep during a late-night sermon… and fell out of a third-story window. 😴💥
📖 Key Verse: “And a young man named Eutychus... sank into a deep sleep as Paul talked still longer. And being overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.” — Acts 20:9
But don’t worry — the story doesn’t end there. God worked a miracle.
🧠 Big Idea:God can work through our accidents — but He calls us to be present, alert, and ready to listen.
🏡 In this episode:
Why church was held in houses in Bible times
What it felt like to be packed into a hot upper room with oil lamps
A teenage boy who tried to stay focused… but just couldn’t keep his eyes open
How Paul responded, how God moved, and how it all points back to grace
💡 Practical Takeaways for Kids:
Get good sleep before church or time with Jesus
Leave devices behind so you can focus
Bring a notebook or doodle during teaching to stay engaged
📝 Family Discussion Question:What’s one thing you can do this week to show up fully and focus better when it’s time to learn about Jesus?
🎙️ Parents: If this story made your kid laugh or helped spark a great conversation, share the podcast on social and tag @carpoolingwithJesus to help other families discover it too!

Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re diving into one of the strangest and funniest stories in the whole Bible — and yes, it involves a real talking donkey (no Shrek here). 😄
📖 Key Verse: “Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth…” — Numbers 22:28
Balaam thought he was on a simple trip, chasing a reward. But God had a different plan — and when Balaam wouldn’t listen, even his donkey had to speak up.
🚨 Main Point:God can speak through anything — even a donkey. So don’t tune out the surprising moments. He may be trying to get your attention.
🏕️ In today’s episode:
A prophet named Balaam gets roadblocked by an angel
A donkey becomes the voice of reason
A summer camp story about ignoring warning signs
A powerful reminder to slow down and pay attention to God
👂 Family Discussion Question:Has God ever tried to get your attention through something surprising — maybe a person, a situation, or even a moment you didn’t expect?
🙏 Parents: If this episode made your family laugh or think deeper about God’s voice, share it in your parenting group or church community. Let’s spread some faith-filled moments together!

Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re diving into one of the most unexpected and hilarious moments in the Bible… until it’s not so funny anymore. It’s the story of Elisha, a group of mean kids, and a reminder that words stick.
📍 Whether you’re headed to camp, cooling off by the pool, or chilling with a cereal bowl at home, today’s episode reminds us that even jokes can leave a mark—and Jesus wants our hearts and words to be full of love and respect.
🗣 Key Verse: “Some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, ‘Get up, baldy!’” — 2 Kings 2:23
👊 Big Idea: Kind words show a strong heart. You don’t have to be loud to be noticed, and you don’t have to be funny to have friends. Build people up — even with your jokes.
🎣 Also in this episode:
What a bald prophet can teach us about leadership and respect
A summer camp story about a joke that went too far
Why Jesus cares about the words we use — even the small ones
📝 Family Discussion Question:Who’s someone in your life that you can build up with kind words today — especially someone who might not hear kindness that often?

Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re diving into one of the most surprising post-resurrection miracles Jesus ever did — and yes, it involves fishing! 🎣
When the disciples didn’t know what to do, they went back to what they knew: fishing. But after a long night of catching nothing, Jesus showed up on the shore with some unexpected help — and a miraculous catch of 153 large fish.
📖 Verse of the Day: John 21:11 — “So Simon Peter climbed up and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish—153 of them. Even though there were so many, the net was not torn.”
🔑 Big Idea: When things aren’t working, don’t quit — try again with Jesus.
👟 We talk about:
Why the disciples went back to fishing
How Jesus helped them in an unexpected way
What it means to "cast again" in your own life
A summer story about skipping rocks and learning to listen
Whether you're finishing a weekend at the lake, hanging at home, or just riding along with your fishing hat still on, this episode reminds us that even when we feel like giving up, Jesus knows just what we need.
📝 Family Question:What's something that hasn’t been working for you lately — and what’s one new way you can try again with Jesus this week?

Hey, Carpool Crew!Whether you're grabbing snacks for the park, barefoot in the backseat, or helping with groceries, today's episode is all about love — the kind that comes straight from God and changes everything. ❤️
In this episode, Pastor Justin reminds us that love isn’t just something we say — it’s something we do. And when we love others well, we show the world what God is like.
✅ What does it mean to be a “dear friend”?✅ How does love look like lemonade, lawn care, and kind words?✅ Why is loving others more than just a suggestion?
You’ll find out all that and more in this Friday wrap-up that sets the tone for the weekend and reminds us we were made to share the love we've already received from God.
Big Idea:When we love one another, we show the world who God is.
📝 Try This:Pick someone in your life — maybe a neighbor, cousin, or classmate — and do something loving for them. It doesn’t need to be big. Just meaningful.
🙏 Friday Prayer:“God, thank You for this week. Help us finish strong today and bless our weekend with joy and rest.”
🎧 Don’t forget to answer this together before you go:Who can you show God’s love to this weekend right where you are?
And parents — if you love this podcast, share it with someone at the pool, at church, or at your weekend game. Let’s keep these faith-filled conversations going all summer long!

Hey, Carpool Crew!In today’s episode of Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin dives into the part of Noah’s story that comes after the storm — the rainbow. 🌈
After 40 days of nonstop rain, Noah and his family step off the ark into a brand-new world. The first thing God does? He paints a rainbow in the sky to make a promise that still matters today: He keeps His word.
✅ What does God’s rainbow really mean?✅ How does it connect to Jesus, the biggest promise of all?✅ What do pancakes and messy kitchens have to do with God’s love?
Find out in this encouraging, hope-filled episode that reminds kids (and parents!) that God never breaks His promises — not to Noah, and not to you. 💛

In today’s Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin takes us into one of the most unforgettable moments from Noah’s story—when the animals came two by two into the ark (Genesis 7:9). But guess what? Noah didn’t go on a safari hunt. God brought the animals to him, and Noah was simply ready.
With a funny childhood story about his first goldfish, Captain Bubbles, Pastor Justin helps kids understand what it means to be responsible and faithful—whether you're caring for a pet, cleaning your room, or helping your siblings (even when they steal your snacks).
📖 Bible Verse of the Day:“Two of each, male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, just as God had commanded Noah.” – Genesis 7:9 (CSB)
💡 Big Idea:When we do our part, God does His. Faithfulness starts small—and matters big.
🚗 Carpool Challenge:Ask each other, “What’s one small thing God has given you to take care of this week?” Then go do it… like Noah did—ready, faithful, and with a great attitude!

🌧️ Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re going way back to the story of Noah and the ark — when one man followed God, even though everyone thought he was crazy. Genesis 6:22 tells us: “Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.” No excuses. No waiting. Just obedience.
🚗 Whether you're on a road trip, chilling in the backyard, or sipping a milkshake, Pastor Justin is here with a reminder: Doing the right thing might feel weird or hard, but it’s always worth it — just like Noah proved.
✝️ And guess what? Jesus obeyed even when it was tough too — all the way to the cross. Today’s episode also includes a personal story from Pastor Justin’s own childhood summer camp that shows what happens when we follow that little nudge from God.
🛠️ Today’s Big Idea: Be a Noah. Do what’s right — even if it feels uncomfortable or unpopular.
📝 Family Question to Talk About:What’s something God might want you to do this week, even if it feels scary?
